Preparation & Registration

The telc exam can be retaken as often as desired. The usual registration deadlines and corresponding exam fees apply in each case.

Examination procedure
The evaluation of the telc exam usually takes about six to eight weeks. Once the evaluation is complete, the certificate will be sent to you by mail.
The written and oral parts of the exam are always held on the same day. No separate exam dates are required.
Individual needs, such as compensation for disadvantages, can be taken into account. Please contact us in good time so that we can make the necessary organizational arrangements.

Examination day – What do I need to bear in mind?
A valid official ID such as a passport or identity card, pencils only, and a transparent water bottle without a label are permitted.
During the exam, neither dictionaries nor electronic aids are permitted.
There is no strict dress code. However, we recommend comfortable and appropriate clothing for the exam day.
Yes, please arrive at least 15 minutes before the exam starts so that all formal procedures can be completed in good time.
If you arrive late, you may not be able to take the exam. Therefore, please make sure you arrive on time.
After the examination
A replacement certificate can be issued for a processing fee. Please contact us directly for this.
An appeal against the examination result is possible within six to eight weeks of receipt. A re-evaluation is subject to a fee.
Even if you fail the exam, you can request a detailed overview of your results. This will help you to work specifically on your weaknesses.
Important note: The request must be made directly to telc gGmbH, as exam providers no longer have access to the exam documents after they have been sent.
